Basketball Players Go League Elite Camp

Michael D. Schoenfeldt is a husband, father, brother, and son with many interests and hobbies. A fan of numerous sports, Michael D. Schoenfeldt especially enjoys cheering on the University of Kansas (KU) Jayhawks basketball team.

The KU Jayhawks are a Division I team in the NCAA Big 12 Conference. KU’s first coach was James Naismith, who invented the entire sport of basketball. The Jayhawks have won four NCAA national championships and are one of only three basketball programs in the country to win more than 2,000 games.

In May 2022, KU forwards Jalen Wilson and David McCormack were invited to participate in the NBA’s G League Elite Camp. The camp features 44 NBA prospects from around the country. Players compete on five-man teams and show off their skills in front of NBA and G League coaches and scouts. The top players at the camp are invited to participate in the NBA Draft Combine and many go on to play in the NBA.

McCormack has played four seasons at KU and has indicated he wants to enter the NBA Draft and begin his professional career. Wilson was invited to the G League Elite Camp last year and elected to play another season at KU instead of entering the draft.
